Is Jason McMaster your real name?
Yes, I had no idea the singer even existed until recently.
How do I know this site is legit?
Read the copyright page of my book. It’s actually written there.
What are your official websites?
Only these for now:
https://jasonwrites.net
https://jasonmcmasterbooks.com (WIP)
https://jason-mcmaster.com (WIP – see below for why)
The other sites out there have nothing to do with me.
Why do you have multiple sites?
I’m sure you’ve heard the term “separation of concerns” before. Well, that. I want a professional site dedicated to my books, free of my ramblings, and easy to maintain. Also, jasonwrites.net is easier to type than jasonmcmasterbooks, so it serves a secondary purpose, too. There’s a much lengthier backstory (beginning with the lack of availability of jasonmcmaster and my adoption of jason-mcmaster, and so on…) surrounding this topic, so I think it’s best to stop here.
Why did you get this site up and running first, before your book site?
Because this requires more setup. The book site will be comprised of static pages and few of them. Also, I’d like to get ready to just start posting without any technical nuisance.
Could you please explain the typewriter banner (I hate not being in on things)?
Sure. Typewriters are associated with authors and writing sites, often used for banners. But they’re also associated with the Resident Evil game franchise. The print follows the format of a typical Resident Evil 2 (the original, not the remake) save game, specifically upon completing one character’s scenario. Since actually finally publishing my book, I feel as though I’ve started a brand new “B Game” version of my life. It’s not exactly canonical with the game’s mechanics, but it makes a good enough temporary banner.
